Indulgent Banana Bread

Is there anyone who hasn’t made a banana bread during the lockdown? Well, I have Healthy Gluten-Free Banana Bread recipe already on my blog but this one I think is definitely needed right now. So if you fancy a night chocolaty moist banana bread that is also vegan, then here you go.


  • Loaf Tin
  • 3 Ripe Bananas
  • 70 grams of oil or butter
  • 220 grams of Self Raising Flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 4 tsp of cinnamon (I love Cinnamon)
  • 50 grams of chopped up chocolate or chips
  • Demerara sugar
  • 1 banana


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 Degrees Celsius
  2. Mash up bananas and add oil or melted butter
  3. In another bowl add Flour, baking power set and cinnamon
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients
  5. Add chocolate and combine
  6. Add to a greased loaf time
  7. Cut one banana in half and place on the top
  8. Finish by sprinkling with Demerara sugar
  9. Place in the oven for 45 mins, check after 20 mins and cover with foil to stop the top catching
  10. Leave to cool and enjoy with a brew


This will last a couple of days in an air tight container if you can resist eating it all at once.
